Aim

Undone Journal is very proud to present two video exclusives: both the behind-the-scenes and the front-of-scenes films created alongside the photographic campaign for the incredible new AIM collection. Watch them below. We also got a quick word with AIM designer Aimee McFarlane…

Was there a particular inspiration or intention behind this collection?
This collection was very much inspired by the fabrics – I found some beautiful fabrics both locally and off shore and if shaped the direction. Along with that it’s all very wearable whilst still being a little bit fancy.

There are some beautiful fabrics and textures in there…
Thank you! I could spend hours looking at fabric, so was pretty excited to find some beautiful fabrics both locally and off shore. The gold brocade in the pencil skirt is from an Italian mill, it felt quite luxurious so I followed on with that, finding other fabrics to complement it. Silk-blend velvet, custom-dyed silk crepe de chine, soft spun silk and a gold fleck boucle coating…

What are you favourite pieces?
I plan to wear the Goldie coat all winter – it has a double layer front with a little bomber tucked snugly inside. I love that the fabric has got the ‘fancy’ about it, but the rib neck collar and underlayer make it ‘streetwear’ too. Looks really great with light coloured denim.

Then this, particularly this, it’s like a moving fashion editorial, super beautiful and hypnotic…
