Cult Beauty: Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil + Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray

The sixth in our Undone beauty series – Cult Beauty – which focuses on our favourite cult products for skin and hair…

Cult Beauty #6 notes:

Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil
Nars lip pencils lie somewhere between lipstick and lip liner, and you can use them as either. They’re also not as drying as other matte lipsticks can be due to the added Vitamin E they contain, though it’s still a good idea to pre-moisturise your lips before applying. They are pigmented something crazy, and the long-wearing formula will stay put for 6-8 hours, providing a little stain underneath. Sharpening chubby pencils can be tricky, but freeze them first to make it a little easier.

Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray
B&B Surf Spray was created by the famed New York hairdressing house in 2001, and caused such a feverish reaction that staff had to go on holiday afterwards. It has featured on ‘top 10’ lists in the industry ever since, and is the ultimate go-to product for not-trying-too-hard hair. The sea salt-based spray adds volume and a whole lot of texture, but two different types of seaweed extracts sneak in some moisturising properties for manageability. Spray evenly through damp or dry hair, and leave to air dry.
