“Do I contradict myself?
Very well, then I contradict myself.
I am large, I contain multitudes.”
– Walt Whitman
The mind of the twenty-something is in a permanent state of disarray. Where to go. What to do. Who to love. When to stay. When to go.
You will go mad defending your changes of mind. There will be much internal opposition. You will love them. You won’t need them. You will never think of them; they are all you think of.
There can be no other remedy than exploration. Do everything, be every way you want to be. We must not resign ourselves to only one personality, one set of dreams, one way of living. Decisions shouldn’t match all of the time, they are and should be as odd as yourself.
You will forever be a contradiction.
Because you are complicated. You are large. You are young. And you contain multitudes.
